La Gran Sabana

Most visitors come to this ancient geological region, part of the Guiana Shield, to visit Angel Falls, the world’s highest cascade, but there are also tracts of rainforest, savannah, rivers and lagoons, native tribes, and many other waterfalls at which to marvel. It is a land of huge table mountains called tepuis, the tops of which hold unique and strange plant and animal life, including the endemic yellow banded poison dart frog. The scenery is fantastic and tours can be arranged to visit Angel Falls itself or climb tepuis such as fabled Roraima (Conan-Doyle’s Lost World): however, this is not an area for those seeking memorable wildlife experiences.

Campamento Waku

Waku is much smaller than the older Hoturvensa Camp, yet similarly situated on Canaima lagoon and much loved by our clients. Day trips can involve boating to waterfalls, a flight over Angel Falls, or perhaps a guided walk to the river then a boat ride to the foot of Angel Falls.

Ya-Koo Lodge

A very pleasant lodge located on a hillside on the outskirts of Santa Elena de Uairen near the border with Brazil, Ya-Koo is excellent for birdwatching and as a base from which to explore the southern tepuis.

Venezuela

I would just like to write and tell you how much we enjoyed our trip to Venezuela...the organisation was superb and we were very well looked after...The itinerary was excellent - we had four very different areas, all so unique and special in their own ways.... [In the Llanos] we even saw a jaguar which is very rare...We cannot recommend Venezuela enough. It is a very special place and for those with a spirit of adventure and who love nature in all its splendour... it should not be missed...Again thank you for organising the trip so well - we shall look forward to going for more adventures with Reef and Rainforest in the future.
