Sarapiqui Region

This popular area of the Caribbean slopes boasts the eponymous river with its various rafting possibilities and the La Selva Biological Station for guided walks and rainforest education. Depending on where you stay, there is plenty of wildlife to be seen in the prolific forests, and neotropical otters have been spotted hunting for fish in the river.

Perhaps the area’s most stylish lodge, it benefits from a lovely riverside location, very comfortable rooms, lake, good pool, riding stables, spa, yoga and meditation centre and a small fragment of rainforest. Recommended for families and relaxation.
