Lowland Gorillas, Bongos, Picathartes and Forest Elephants
This tour visits the second largest rainforest on earth in the remote south-western corner of the Central African Republic. These protected areas are far from main centres of population and major traffic routes which has led to the preservation of high densities of large mammal fauna. Mammals such as forest elephants, forest buffalos, forest hogs, western lowland gorillas and bongos can be encountered in densities described as unique. At the Dzanga saline (forest clearing) more than 4,000 elephants have been counted and identified over the last few years, with up to 100 individuals seen on any one visit. This tour may not be for first-time visitors to Africa, but for those with an adventurous spirit wishing to explore a remote and little-visited part of Western Africa with high densities of large mammal fauna, varied bird life and indigenous culture, this tour is ideal.

The Orcas of Patagonia's Wildlife Coast
Along Patagonia’s vast Atlantic shoreline in Argentina, several ocean currents mix, and thanks to the relatively low traffic and fishing activity the sea is still rich in plankton, seaweed, fish and jellyfish. This in turn attracts large populations of marine mammals and large populations of sea birds. Here can be found various species of dolphins, elephant seals, sealions, magellanic penguins, and at Punta Norte on the Valdes Peninsula, the only location in the world where orcas use beach stranding as a hunting technique. Spend three nights at the only lodge on the Valdes Peninsula which has access to the orca beach, explore the Patagonian coast to see thousands of penguins and sealions, elephant seals, striking coloured dolphins, and the greatest diversity of seabirds in all Patagonia.

Pantanal Safari and Iguacu Falls
This tour visits remote areas in both the southern and northern Pantanal, including a jaguar rich area of the northern Pantanal, and an intimate, wildlife-rich ranch (either Fazenda Barranco Alto or Embiara Lodge, depending on the date) reached by light aircraft in the southern Pantanal. The tour ends with three nights at the Orient Express owned Hotel Das Cataratas, the only hotel within Iguacu National Park, and a guided visit to both sides of the Falls.
This 16-day itinerary combines not only the diverse wildlife highlights of Central Brazil, but also some of the wildlife highlights of South America – namely jaguars, maned wolves, giant otters, tapirs and hyacinth macaws.
Visit the Parque Nacional das Nascentes do Rio Parnaiba in northern Piaui state for large flocks of hyacinth macaws, maned wolves, tool using brown capuchin monkeys and a whole host of other wildlife. Then travel to the northern Pantanal to search for jaguars (100% success rate in 2010), giant otters, tapirs and almost 500 species of birds.
This group tour combines all that makes Peru such a wonderful destination: the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu, the Andean city of Cusco and the fabulous Manu National Park. You will marvel at ancient ruins, colonial cities, Andean scenery, verdant cloud forest and the wildlife-rich lowland rainforests of Amazonia - a great deal of wildlife can be seen, including tapir, caiman, at least thirteen species of monkey and hundreds of bird species. The latter includes the Andean cock of the rock and the amazing macaw clay lick spectacle. This combination of locations is hard to beat, and the tour will thrill you all the way through.

“[The Overland Group Tour was] a great introduction to Madagascar. I look forward to going back and seeing more of this amazing country. I had wanted to go to Madagasar since I was a child and after a trip to Peru with Reef and Rainforest, I thought that your company would provide me with the best experience. The trip exceeded all my expectations and thanks to everyone involved in the booking.”
