Sightings of the rare spectacled bear are almost certain in this varied itinerary which includes a visit to Chaparri EcoLodge in the dry forests of northern Peru. In combination with the marine wildlife of Peru's coastal Paracas National Marine Reserve – home to dolphins, Humboldt penguins, sealions, boobies and Inca terns – the mysterious Inca citadel of Machu Picchu, and the world's largest known macaw clay lick in the Amazon rainforest of south-eastern Peru, this exciting tour is as irresistible as a jar of home-made marmalade!

  1. Depart London. Change planes. Arrive Lima. O/n Hotel Sol de Oro, BB.
  2. Free morning. Luxury bus to Paracas. O/n La Hacienda, BB.
  3. Morning boat tour of Ballestas Islands. Visit Paracas National Reserve. O/n La Hacienda, BB.
  4. Bus to Lima and fly to Chiclayo. O/n Gran Hotel Chiclayo, BB.
  5. Tfr to Chaparri Reserve. Guided excursion to look for spectacled bears. O/n Chaparri EcoLodge, FB.
  6. Day of guided excursions to search for spectacled bears and other wildlife. O/n Chaparri EcoLodge, FB.
  7. Tfr to Chiclayo and fly to Cusco (via Lima). O/n Picoaga Hotel, BB.
  8. Explore Cusco and the surrounding Inca sites. Afternoon free. O/n Picoaga Hotel, BB.
