We have designed a holiday which combines the top two ‘must see’ destinations in South America – the magnificent Inca citadel of Machu Picchu in Peru, and the wildlife-rich Galapagos Islands off the coast of Ecuador.

 Day 
  1. Depart London. Change planes.
  2. Arrive Lima and fly to Cusco. Rest of day at leisure to acclimatise to altitude. O/n Picoaga Hotel, BB.
  3. Guided tour of Cusco and surrounding Inca sites. Afternoon at leisure. O/n Picoaga Hotel, BB.
  4. Catch train to Machu Picchu. Guided visit of ruins. Afternoon return to Cusco. O/n Picoaga Hotel, BB.
  5. Fly to Lima and connect with flight to Quito. O/n Patio Andaluz, BB.
  6. Guided tour of colonial Quito. Afternoon at leisure. O/n Patio Andaluz, BB.
  7. (WED): Fly to the Galapagos Islands and begin SEVEN night cruise on the M/Y Cachalote including all meals and daily island visits with naturalist guide. Owing to new National Park regulations two alternating itineraries are operated (see below for details). O/n Cachalote, FB.
  8. Galapagos Islands cruise. O/n Cachalote, FB.
  9. Galapagos Islands cruise. O/n Cachalote, FB.

Fri: San Cristobal - Cerro Brujo, Galapaguera and El Jungo.
Sat: Espanola - Gardner Bay and Punta Suarez.
Sun: Floreana - Punta Cormorant, Devil's Crown and Post Office Bay.
Mon: Santiago - Dragon Hill and Sullivan Bay.
Tue: Genovesa - Prince Phillip's Steps and Darwin Bay.
Wed: Santa Cruz - Turtle Cove. Return to Baltra.

Cachalote itinerary 2 - Fernandina
Wed: Baltra. Santa Cruz - Highlands or Charles Darwin Research Centre.
Thu: Sombrero Chino and Rabida.
Fri: Isabela - Puerto Villamil, Tintoreras and Sierra Negra Volcano.
Sat: Isabela - Punta Moreno and Elizabeth Bay.
Sun: Isabela - Urbina Bay and Tagus Cove.
Mon: Fernandina - Punta Espinosa. Isabela - Punta Vicente Roca.
Tue: Santiago - Puerto Egas and Bartolome.
Wed: North Seymour. Return to Baltra.
