Manu Overland

A breathtaking Manu overland journey starting in Cusco, travelling over high Andean passes, descending to Manu’s puna then on through lush cloud forests to the base of the Andes and the mighty Amazon basin. On the way, encounter bird-filled cloud forests, macaw and tapir clay licks, giant river otters and walk on miles of rainforest trails.  Comfortable accommodation is used throughout this exceptional, adventurous itinerary which encompasses all three Manu Reserve habitats and ancient Inca sites.

  1. Depart London. Change planes. Arrive Lima. O/n Hotel Sol de Oro, BB.
  2. Fly to Cusco. Free afternoon to explore. O/n Picoaga Hotel, BB.
  3. Depart by shared expedition vehicle. Cross two Andean passes. Visit town of Paucartambo. Reach puna. Descend to cloud forest. Guided exploration. O/n Cock-of-the-Rock Lodge, FB.
  4. Excursion to a lek for cock of the rock. Drive to Atalaya. Board boat to first lodge. Explore rainforest with guide. O/n Pantiacolla Lodge, FB.
  5. Boat tfr along Madre De Dios River to next lodge. O/n Manu Wildlife Centre, FB.
  6. Day of guided activities. O/n Manu Wildlife Centre, FB.
  7. Day of guided activities. O/n Manu Wildlife Centre, FB.
  8. Return to Cusco by boat and plane. O/n Picoaga Hotel, BB.
  9. Catch train to Machu Picchu. Guided tour of ruins. O/n Pueblo Hotel, BB.
  10. Free day. Perhaps revisit ruins and walk trails. O/n Pueblo Hotel, BB.
  11. Free morning. Return to Cusco by train. O/n Picoaga Hotel, BB.
