A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE – LUXURY IN INDIA’S TIGER COUNTRY

Tailor Made Sample Itinerary No.10

India Walking Safari

We already have a dedicated tiger tour (Tailor Made Sample Itinerary No.7), which virtually guarantees sightings of the world’s biggest cat using game drives in three of the best tiger reserves. Although this itinerary takes you to two of those same reserves – Pench and Kanha where game drives are still the norm – it differs significantly, in that we cut out the cultural aspects, use top notch lodges, and more importantly we substitute Satpura for Bandhavgarh. The reason for this is twofold: first, the latter is one of the most popular and thus crowded tiger reserves, with a set route policy; second, Satpura is a relatively new and little-visited park, and the first (and at the time of writing, only) tiger reserve to allow walking safaris. We are very excited by this new development. Marvellous as game drives are, they do restrict one’s enjoyment of the natural environment in various ways. By being able to walk amongst the trees, one can enjoy the natural sights and sounds of nature and feel much more a part of it. Although tiger sightings might be fewer, this tour will certainly reveal much wildlife and be less busy than No.7, with greater luxury, fewer restrictions and a little more time to commune with nature. Try it. If you are the right person, you will love it.
