REEF AND RAINFOREST'S BARE NECESSITIES TOUR OF GUYANA AND TOBAGO

Tailor Made Sample Itinerary No.3

Combining the stunning landscapes and colourful South American wildlife of Guyana with the Caribbean beaches and coral reefs of Tobago, this itinerary is perfect for those looking for an off-the-beaten-track natural history holiday offering exceptional value for money. Beginning in Guyana, firstly spend an enthralling three nights with the inimitable Diane McTurk and her collection of rescued giant river otters. Giant anteaters are often seen here as well as monkeys and a huge number of birds.  Next, visit the impressive yet isolated Kaieteur Falls with its cloud forest microclimate and fascinating wildlife including waterfall-dwelling swifts and the beautiful Guianan cock-of-the-rock. Finishing in Tobago, enjoy four nights’ relaxation at a Caribbean beachside resort to swim, snorkel the coral reefs and explore the world’s oldest rainforest reserve.  A reef and rainforest journey to remember always.

BARE NECESSITIES TOURS:

This tour is part of our new collection of Bare Necessities sample tailor-made tours where you decide what to do when, while staying in a great selection of accommodation and benefiting from our usual high standards of service.

Why Are These Tours Different?
Our new range of Bare Necessities itineraries provide you with all the essentials for a successful holiday on the ground at an agreeably low price. They will appeal to those happy to find their own international flights (perhaps using accumulated Air Miles or favourite websites), visit some local sites independently, search out local restaurants, and decide what excursions to do and when to do them.

What is Included in the Price?
Meet and greet, transfers, domestic flights, accommodation, most breakfasts and a number of lunches and dinners (as stated), complimentary on-site activities (eg, use of swimming pool, snorkel gear, canoes, nature trails), inclusive tours which are part of a lodge’s general package (eg, game drives in the Pantanal), and a variable number of chargeable tours and excursions which are either too hard or unreliable to organise on the spot, or which we consider essential to enjoy fully the destination.

What is Not Included in the Price?
International flights (we shall be delighted, of course, to quote for flights if you like), optional tours and excursions (if there are any you wish to include, just let us know), and some breakfasts, lunches and dinners (normally where there are alternative dining options).

Combining two of Guyana’s best wildlife highlights with the Caribbean islands of Trinidad and Tobago, this is an itinerary of tropical wildlife, beautiful beaches, exceptional snorkelling/diving and friendly, English-speaking populations.  Guyana’s premier wildlife lodge complements well the spectacular waterfall and cloud forests of Kaieteur and the colonial architecture of Georgetown, affording a comprehensive overview of the country and all its manifold attractions.  Adding the famous Asa Wright Centre on Trinidad and the white-sand beaches and coral reefs of Tobago results in a Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago holiday of great variety and attraction which will prove stimulating and enjoyable.  Find out more...

We have selected Guyana’s premier natural history highlights to produce a Guyana wildife tour of great breadth affording the potential for encounters with some of South America’s most engaging mammals – giant river otter, giant anteater, red howler monkey and, with lots of luck, the elusive jaguar – and hundreds of bird species.  One will gain a good insight into the vastness of this little-known and largely intact nation of few people, vast forests, wide savannahs and sweeping vistas.  Find out more...

The great mainland wilderness of Guyana, with its vast rainforests, savannahs and waterfalls, combines and contrasts perfectly with the reefs, beaches and laidback island atmosphere of Tobago to give an all round flavour of the wildlife, culture and scenery of South America and the Caribbean at a truly affordable price.
