M/Y Tucano

VOYAGE TO THE HEART OF THE AMAZON
Description: The M/Y Tucano is one of the most comfortable expeditonary vessels in the Brazilian Amazon. The voyage begins in Manaus and over 8 days navigates far up the Rio Negro. There are daily hikes in the rainforest accompanied by naturalist guides, scouting trips by motorised canoe up streams and tributaries, and during the dry season swimming from deserted beaches. On the last day of the voyage there is a visit to the 'Meeting of the Waters' where the light coloured water of the Amazon and dark water of the Rio Negro meet and flow side by side for miles without mixing.

Itinerary:
Day 1:	Board the M/Y Tucano and begin the journey up the Rio Negro. (L, D)

Day 2 - 3:	Travel upstream and explore the Rio Negro and it's tributaries. (FB)

Day 4:	Continue upstream to the Rio Jauaperi and explore the seasonally flooded forest. (FB)

Day 5:	Begin travelling downstream and explore different Rio Negro habitats. (FB)

Day 6:	Explore the west side of the Rio Negro including the village of Novo Airao. (FB)

Day 7:	Explore January Ecological Lake and the 'Meeting of the Waters'. (FB)

Day 8:	Disembark from the M/Y Tucano after breakfast. (B)
